PM-KISAN to provide multiple benefits to farmers: CEA
Farm income support scheme PM-KISAN will provide multiple benefits to farmers, including improving their credit worthiness, said Chief Economic Adviser K V Subramanian. The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana (PM-KISAN) was announced in the Interim Budget 2019-20, under which Rs 6,000 will be given in three instalments to 12 crore small and marginal farmers holding cultivable land up to 2 hectare.

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) approved a The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) approved a corpus of 2000 crore for Agri Market Infrastructure Fund (AMIF) to be created with Nabard for development and upgrade of agricultural marketing infrastructure in rural and regulated wholesale markets. The fund will provide subsidised loans to states and Union Territories for 585 agricultural produce market committee (APMC) mandis and 10000 gramin agricultural markets (GrAMs).
